‘The Mist’ – my own versions presented as a poem.
The lie consumes me
Like the engulfing mist
Swallowing all that exists
Degrading every breath
Into silent pleads!
Warm kisses and the smell of coffee
Fingers entwined
Years lost, blown away
Mist giving way to the mountain peaks,
To our love and longing!
Aching heart
Quiet but resilient
Misted with tears
Beats again
To announce its existence
Even when no one cares!
