A book we shared
You read one half
While I cried in the other half.
The first of many we read together.
Entwined in the worlds written by authors
Leaving this one for others.
Your words, “I wish I were dead.”
Heartbroken and numb, I held your hand.
We had lived through it all
Together always for I was right beside
Hoping this time
You could truly feel my hand in yours.
Sisters by birth,
I look up to you.
My smart, funny, and quiet mate.
So many have left but I didn’t care
For it was you I only braved.
“I will be gone someday,” mom said
“Watch for each other with love & care.”
Little did she know,
We came into this world only for each other.
