“Transience”

A house lived here once

Warm sunlight kept it cozy

Cheerful with Laughter and clinking of glasses

Friends never left &

Family always protected

Fragrant with flowers so colorful

Butterflies & Ladybugs were permanent settlers

A house stood here once

I learnt to ride my bike here

Circling my belongings,

feeling privileged.

A house brighter than all, grew here

Festivals were celebrated

Accompanied with prayers and loved ones

Music playing loud & happy

Food was in plenty

For no one left hungry or sad

All wanted to return.

A house lived here once

Not anymore

Hollowed yet standing

Memories live on

The butterflies still fly there

But don’t stay for long.
